Konrad was born in Meerholz, Hessen, Nassau, Germany. son of Johann Heinrich and Anna Maria Gref Reusswig.
A farmer, he lived in house no.57 Meerholz, Germany.
He immigrated to America in 1864 on board the Ship: Christel, leaving from Bremerhaven and arriving in New York ,10 November 1864. Konrad was the nephew of Meerholz Buergermeister, Johann Georg Reusswig. Conrad immigrated with his wife and children:

In 1864 Conrad was 5 feet 6 inches tall, had brown hair, blond eyebrows and blue eyes, and good teeth and had enough education to sign his own name in a confident handwriting. He died before 1880 and is buried in Voegtly Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
