VALLATA GRACE BISNETT died October 8, 2013 at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan, KS at the age of 89. She was born on August 17, 1924 in Clay County Kansas, the daughter of Lewis and Daisy Kynaston Laflin.

Vallata was born and raised in Clay County. She moved to Neosha, MO in 1940 and worked in a garment factory. Later, she moved to California and worked as a seamstress. Vallata returned to the Broughton area and married Roy Bisnett on December 29, 1950. They farmed near Broughton and Vallata worked as an EMT and Nurses Aide until she retired in the mid-1990's. Roy preceded her in death on December 15, 1988. Vallata was a member of the United Methodist Church and Eagles club, both of Clay Center and the Clifton American Legion Auxiliary. She is also preceded by 2 sisters, Ruth Schmale and Fern Hahn and 4 brothers, Glenn, Nolan, Wilbur and Lester Laflin.

Survivors include:

Daughter: LaDonna and husband Fay Hoffman, Leonardville, KS

2 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 1:30 PM at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel in Clay Center, Kansas.

Officiating the service will be Pastor Ryan Lynch.

Burial will be at the Broughton Cemetery, Clay County, Kansas.

Visitation will be held on 3-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home

Memorials can be made to Vallata Bisnett memorial fund to be designated later.
