A. Marie Phillips, age 77 of Sanford, N.C., formerly of Edwardsville, Ill., died on Monday, September 30, 2013 at her home in Sanford.
She was born on July 12, 1936 in Kane, Green County, Illinois to the late Aden Darrell Abbott and Esther Marie (Bethel) Abbott-Williams (1916-2011).
She was a retired educator. Marie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was very involved with the Women's Relief Society where she formerly served as president for many years. Marie enjoyed genealogy.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years and her children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Phillips and her brother, Bruce Williams.
