WALTER HAMILTON READER
Well known Tyrone citizen and manager for the Reader Brothers & Hoffman company, died suddenly Sunday morning at 8 o'clock at the Baughman home at Vail, where he had gone Saturday evening to visit his wife, who was ill at the Baughman home. Mr. Reader had not been in very good health, having had the grippe, but had gone to Vail on Saturday evening and remained overnight with his wife. Sunday morning Mr. Reader arose and dressed preparatory to leaving for Tyrone when he collapsed and expired. Death was attributed to apoplexy. He was born at Waynesboro, Nov. 12, 1880, and had resided in Tyrone for the past thirty-five years. He was the son of James H. and Louise Verker Reader,both now deceased. He was united in marriage last December with Jennie McCoy of Vail, who survives, with his step-mother Mrs. Elizabeth R. Reader, and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Minnie Smith of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Ida Beaber of Oakland, Calif., Mrs. Florence Parsons of Pittsburgh and William Reader of Tyrone; and these half-brothers and half-sisters: Fred K. Reader of Omaha, Neb., Earnest, John R. and Foster R. of Tyrone and Mrs. Frank Oakwood of Tyrone. One sister and one half-brother are deceased. He was a draftsman and manager of the firm of Reader Brothers & Hoffman and was well known in Tyrone and vicinity. Funeral services will be conducted at the Graham funeral home on Tenth street, Tyrone, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, in charge of Rev. John R. Watson, pastor of the United Brethren church. Interment will be made in the Grandview cemetery at Tyrone.
