Sarah Myrick's obituary appears in the July, 28, 1922 issue of the Southern Democrat. It list her birth and death dates as different from that on her tombstone. It states that she was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church for 60 years. She was survied by 4 children: Adda Myrick McDowell of Sayre. Monore Myrick and Francis Myrick Robbins of Hayden and Howell Myrick of Trafford and 59 great-grand children. She was also survied by a sister, Mary Ervin. The obituary states that Sarah had 10m children, 6 sons and 4 daughters. It also states that she had been widowed for 51 years. Which would have her husband, William Myrick date of death of 1871.
