FORMER BLAIR WOMAN DIES

Word reached Blair Tuesday of the death of Mrs. Everett Rhoades of Wayne, Neb., on Monday at two p.m. She had been ill but a few days and the attending physician assured the family that there was no immediate danger. First taken with a sore throat, it rapidly developed into what the physician pronounced as quinsy but which later proved to be diphtheria.

She first took sick on Thursday and a physician was called and by Sunday she seemed to be much improved and on Monday afternoon the husband returned to his work, thinking all was well, but two hours later she passed away.

Gertrude Wallace would have been thirty-six years of age had she lived until April 26. She was married to Everett Rhoades Oct. 20, 1910 and to this union six children were born, the eldest being seventeen years of age and the youngest five. Seven years ago the family moved to Wayne, Neb. in order to be near the husband's work, that of foreman of a construction crew of the railroad.

The body of the deceased mother was brought to Blair on Tuesday and interment was made in the Blair cemetery on Wednesday afternoon with a short ceremony at the grave.

The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved husband and children in the great loss of their loved one. The load will be a grievous one to bear and the path of life will be lonesome to them in their sorrow. Her place in their lives will be a void and the loving tender care and service of a devoted life will be missed.
