Mrs. Virginia "Jenny" Maude McDole McDowell, age 85, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on March 29, 1928 in Bedford, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late, Tom and Bertha Hackney McDole. She spent most of her life in Jefferson County and attended Hopewell Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and caregiver all of her life. Virginia was united in marriage to Harrison McDowell in May 1947 in Warsaw, Kentucky and this union was blessed with one daughter and two sons. She enjoyed crocheting,Yodeling, making yo yo's, flowers and being with her family. Virginia died on Monday, September 30, 2013, at 1:03 p.m. at the Water's of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana.

Virginia will be missed by her loving daughter, Janet Lee Hardwick of Deputy, Indiana; her sons, Warren Thomas McDowell and his wife, Jo of Brunswick, Georgia, Robert Allen McDowell of Lexington, Indiana; her grandchildren, Linnette, David, Thomas, Jannette, Byron, Travis, Jessie Jo, Jeremy & Tammy; her great grandchildren, Kassie, Clayton, Kimberly, Brian, Katie, Tyler, Jessica, Danielle; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Bertha Hackney McDole, husband, Harrison McDowell, her sisters, Lola Mahoney, Elizabeth Kelley, and Ora Jane Kroger, her brothers, Raymond and Harold McDole.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 4, 2013, at 4:30 p.m. by Pastor Don Hamilton at the Grandview Memorial Gardens Chapel, 9306 North U.S. 421 near Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens,9306 North US 421 near Madison, Indiana.
