Walter H. Bodem, 90, of Indianapolis, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005.

He was born April 26, 1915, the son of Peter and Barbara Yiesla Bodem. He worked for Citizen's Gas and Coke Utility for 39 years and following retirement he worked at the Indianapolis Museum of Art for 14 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Alaska and the South Pacific as member of the U.S. Army 96th Infantry Division. He was a member of Irvington Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are one son, Richard A. Bodem of Overland Park, Kan.; one daughter Barbara J. Greer of Fort Wayne; one sister, Norma McFadden; two brothers, Roy and Lee Bodem; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Esther C. Gallatin Bodem, who died in 2003; one brother Raymond Bodem; and one sister, Marie Emery.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Legacy Funeral Alternatives at Memorial Park, 9350 East Washington St., Indianapolis.

Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Irvington Presbyterian Church.
