GALVESTON - Bertie Corrine Anderson Burch, 90, of Galveston, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2001, in Galveston. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Hampton Mabry Jr., officiating. Burial will follow the service at
Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. The family will receive visitors after 5 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.
My beloved mother left this life on June 30, 2001. She was born on June 5,1911, in Terrell, Texas, and recently celebrated her 90th birthday. She was born to William and
Dovey Anderson, of Terrell. She had an active life as a
hair model before marrying, moving to Galveston and becoming a mother and housewife. She enjoyed a good game of cards, cooking, crossword puzzle, people and life in general. She was a kind, compassionate and loving wife, mother, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lester Burch; son, Charles Woods; daughter, Laura Havens; sister, Pearl Palmer; and two stepsons, Edward and Jerry Burch.
Those of us she leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jimmy Jones;
daughter-in-law, Ruby Burch; son-in-law, James Havens;
stepsons, Billy and Robert Burch; stepdaughters, Donna
Kline and Shirley Jackson; 21 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, two greatgreat- grandsons, and nephew, Bobby Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Care Team, 1708 Amburn, Suite C, Texas City, Texas 77591-2436.
