Mrs. Mehrens Died Monday

LIFETIME BLAIRITE, MRS. MARGARET MEHRENS DIES; CATHOLIC RITES HELD


A long illness proved fatal Monday evening to Mrs. Margaret Mehrens, 72, lifetime Blair resident. Mrs. Mehrens died at 6 p.m. at the Mehrens farm home at the northeast edge of Blair.

The body was taken to the Campbell Mortuary, where the rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Requiem Mass was said by the Rev. Edward C. O’Donnell at 9 a.m. yesterday at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. Interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery here.

Mrs. Mehrens, daughter of the late pioneer couple, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Quinlan, was born Oct. 7, 1877, as Margaret Quinlan. She and William Mehrens were married Dec. 26, 1902, and to them were born two children, Agnes and Francis.

Surviving Mrs. Quinlan are her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Mehrens, at home; three grandchildren, Jerome, Eugene, and Marcia Tyson, all of Omaha; and two sisters, Mrs. Louie Grimm of Blair and Mrs. Harry Tucker of Long Beach, Calif.

Preceding Mrs. Mehrens in death was her daughter Agnes of Omaha, who died last year. She was the wife of Marshall Tyson, former Blairite. Also preceding Mrs. Mehrens in death were three brothers, William and Jack Quinlan of Blair and Tom Quinlan of Omaha, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Sinnott of Omaha.
