Julia Mae Poston, 88, widow of Reamer J. "Ted" Poston, Sr., passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013, in Conway Manor Nursing Center.
Mrs. Poston was born in Hannah, SC, a daughter of the late Benjamin Durham and Ida Oredia Prosser Poston. She was a retired homemaker, farmer and country store owner. She was an active member of the Pee Dee Baptist Church in Gresham as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially growing flowers and working in her vegetable garden. She also loved animals and liked to raise goats. Mrs. Poston always put others before herself.
Surviving are her son, R. J. (Joyce) Poston, Jr.; grandchildren, Reamer J. Poston, III, Daniel H. (Kris) Poston, Jason L. (Shawnda) Poston, James A. Revels, III, Rochelle Jones and Robin (Mark) Scott; 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Poston was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Janell Revels; brothers, Armstrong Poston, Howard Poston, Donald Poston, William "Billy" Poston and Jerry Poston; and sister, Elaveen Gardner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 2, 2013, in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway, with burial in the Soules Chapel Cemetery in Gresham.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 till 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 1, 2013, in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
