Marion Rita Denney was born September 8, 1922 in Connecticut the daughter of Charles Gilbert Denney and Constance Magdelen Wallon.

She was the eldest of 4 children Her brother Stanley Gilbert Denney, her sister Geraldine Denney and her youngest brother Raymond Charles Denney.

January 10, 1946 she married Walter Alonzo Sanborn Jr. and to this union 3 beautiful girls were born. Cynthia Rose Sanborn, Patricia Ann Sanborn and Barbara Lee Sanborn. Cynthia preceded her in death.

October 1, 1965 she married Vernard Clarence Crockett Jr whom preceded her death October 7, 1974.

DUNCAN, OKLA. — Marion Rita Crockett, 91, of Duncan, Okla., passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Duncan Regional Hospital in Duncan. Marion Rita Crockett was born Sept. 8, 1922, in Hartford, Conn., to Charles and Constance Denney.

Marion graduated from Ellsworth High School. She worked as a trust officer at Union Trust Co. in Ellsworth. Marion enjoyed stamp collecting, painting, cross stitching, quilting, sewing and fishing. She was a member of the International Optimist Club in Lawton, Okla. Marion married her husband, Vernard C. Crockett, in 1963. He passed away in October 1974.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Vernard Crockett; daughter, Cynthia Pata; and her parents, Charles Denney and Constance Wallon Denney. Marion is survived by her daughters, Pat and her husband, Robert Feezel, of Pinellas Park, Fla., Barbara and her husband, Kelvin Dudenhoeffer, of Frankfurt, Germany; brothers, Stanley and Raymond Denney of Vermont; sister, Jerri Clements of New Hampshire; granddaughters, Deborah Odom, Jessica Lewis, Susan Bennett; and great-grandchildren, Twilite Mitchusson, Kamrey Lewis, Kahlan Lewis, Brandon Bennett, Zachary Bennett, Nathaniel Bennett and Brianna Bennett.

There will be no services or visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Optimist International Foundation, 4494 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108. Condolences may be left online at www.dongranthamfuneralhomes.com.
