Jeanette A. Mintus (1917 - 2013) Obituary
AVON - Jeanette A. Mintus, 96, left her family on earth with the angels to join her family in heaven on September 28, 2013.
She was born on August 18, 1917, in Lorain.
During the Depression in the 1930s, she left high school to work, and then later received her high school diploma in 1970. She worked at General Motors on the assembly line, the Lorain ship yards and also in the cafeteria at Bay Village High School for 12 years. She enjoyed baking and music.
She is survived by her 4 children, Constance (William, deceased) Petersen of Rocky River, Gary (Patricia) Golinski of Seven Hills, Walter Mintus of Elyria and Carol Mintus of Avon; 8 grandchildren, Kirsten (Leonard) Gibel, Christopher (Dusty) Petersen, Michael Petersen, Erik Petersen, Clairessa (Mark) Rozmarynowycz, Bridget Cogar, Gus Golinski and Julie Golinski; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Walterine Mize and Theodora Muzilla; and 1 brother, Henry Klekota.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edmund Golinski in 1952; second husband, Walter J. Mintus in 1983; son, Allen Golinski; sisters, Wanda Blazina, Lottie Rusnack and Theresa Klekota; and brothers, Edward, Ted, Harry and Walter.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, from 4-8 PM at the MISENCIK FUNERAL HOME, 36363 Detroit Road, Avon, where closing prayers will be on Thursday at 9:30 AM, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Avon. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
