Died 1 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 1991, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. She was 91, a native and lifelong resident of Slaughter and East Feliciana Parish. Visiting at Redwood Baptist Church, Slaughter, 9 a.m. Wednesday until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Alvin Hall and the Rev. Arnold Ray Austin. Burial in church cemetery. Survived by three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Beatrice) Schaefer, Navasota, Texas, Mrs. Clarence (Elsie) Pace, Casa Grande, Ariz., and Mrs. Clyde W. (Ida Mae) Chidester, Ethel; two sons, Vernon E. Dawson Sr., Ethel, and Jessie Lea Dawson, Slaughter; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Charles Vernon Dawson; a son, Lester Harold Dawson; a granddaughter, Laura Lea Dawson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Turner; and six brothers. Pallbearers will be Lester C., Malvin L., Charles W. and David L. Schaefer, Vernon E. Dawson Jr., Edward L. Dawson, Jeffery G. Farrar, and James Howell. Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, in chargeof arrangements.
