Middleboro, Oct. 29, 1817, son of
Warren and Betsey (Bisbee) Bump.
His grandfather was Asa Bump, who
lived at Fall Brook and who attained
local fame as an Indian fighter and
as a defender of the Buzzard Bay
shores during the attacks of the
British in the war of 1812.
Mr. Bump was married and had three
children. A scourge of diphtheria
caused the death of all three within
a few days. His wife died some years
ago. Mr. Bump died Sept. 2, 1907.
