When James Kennedy Vance was born on April 21, 1835, in Tennessee, his father, John M Vance, was 21 and his mother, Margaret Elizabeth Kennedy, was 18. He married Martha Elizabeth Cannon on February 2, 1866, in Knox County, Tennessee. They had : Florence Kennedy and Sarah Jane. He died on October 26, 1904, at the age of 69. He was buried in Knox County, Tennessee in the Carters Mill Cemetery. He was the grandson of my 4th great granddad. He was my 1st cousin 4X removed.
