George A. Brody, 87, of Donora, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. He was born Jan. 22, 1917, in Donora, a son of the late Charles and Mary Pritoka Brody. He was a member or St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Donora. Mr. Brody was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. He received the Good Conduct, American Theater Services and World War II Victory medals. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Albert Brody. Survivors include his beloved wife, Josephine DiNatale Brody; two sons, Dr. Mark George Brody and wife Suzanne of Jefferson and James Joseph Brody and wife Gayle of Jeannette; one daughter, Christine Holt and husband Thomas of Corvallis, Ore.; eight grandchildren, Shannon, David, Jennifer, Rachel, Matthew, Rebecca, Cristopher and Nicole; one great-grandchild, Joseff James; two brothers, William Brody of Carroll Township and John Brody of Ohio; three sisters, Ann Datsko and Dolores Zubovic of Donora and Alice Cislak of Fairless; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME, 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, where a prayer service will be held Saturday, Oct. 9 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Michael B.C. Church, Donora with the Rev. Fr. James Spontak as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Donora. The parish rosary will be recited Friday at 7 p.m., and a Parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
