May 4, 1945 - Sept. 23, 2013 EDMOND John T. Smith Jr., of Edmond, OK, passed away September 23, 2013. He was born May 4, 1945 in Poteau, OK to Ruby LaVerne and John Thomas Smith.
John loved hunting and spending time with his buddies at the "farm." He also was an avid OU football fan and enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden. In recent years John also became a gun enthusiast. He retired from OG&E and most recently he was a Landman at Superior Title.
John is preceded in death by his parents; brother Charles Smith; sister Tommye Scantling and husband Leonard.
John is survived by his wife Barbara Smith; daughter Paige Jenkins and husband Ernie; the best granddaughter ever Macy; brother Donald Smith and wife Charlene; sisters Shera Sheppard, Norma Ruth Chesnut and husband Gary and sister-in-law Doyleen Smith.
Visitation will be held 11:00am to 8:00pm Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral ceremony will be held 10:00am Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
