VINTON-Gary Eugene Walter, 63, died Saturday, September 21, 2013, in a Beaumont Hospital.
Gary was a native of Vinton and attended the Kingdom Hall in Vinton. He was a member of the Horseman's Association and the Thoroughbred Association. He enjoyed taking care of horses and cattle. Gary was a farmer through and through. He loved life. Gary loved spending time on the farm with his brother, grandson, nieces, nephews and family.
Survivors include his mother, Martha Alice Walter of Vinton; son, Mikeal "Digger" Walter and his fiance Triss Bujard, of Vinton; siblings, Larry Hare, Carolyn Baker, and Danny Walter; grandson, Cole Mikeal Walter; step grandchildren, Ariel and Riley McDaniel; and Melanie Stanley, who had a very special relationship with him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Eugene Walter, and his brother Ernest Hare.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, September 27, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss.
