Lois Estes Hankins . the daughter of Jesse E. Estes and Mable Lene Ray Estes , was born August 30 , 1919 in Lee County , Mississippi . Her paternal grandparents were Elisha Evans and Sarah Caroline McCarty Estes . Her maternal grandparents were Robert W. and Emma Barnes Ray . She married Lawrence Green Hankins and they had four children : Emogene Hankins Gibson , Betsy Hankins Beasley , Lawrence Hankins , and Paul T. Hankins . Mrs. Hankins as a homemaker was known for her skills in quilting , sewing , embroidery , and needlework . She was active in Eastern Star and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church . Lois Estes Hankins died August 25, 2007 in Tupelo , Mississippi . She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Green Hankins;, her brothers Jesse Elvin Estes , Carter Estes , and Robert Carl Estes ; her sisters Louise Alexander and Lorraine Scott , her granddaughter Judy L. Barnes , and great grandson Jason Edwards .
