Laura M. Geddes, 92 year old Woodward resident, died Sunday, September 25, 1994 in the Woodward Nursing Center. Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Elmwood Cemetery with the Reverend Carroll McCoy officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home
Laura Margaret (Nash) Geddes was born May 2, 1902 in Wymore, Neb.; she was the daughter of Abel and Mary Frances (Lutes) Nash. The family came to Oklahoma in 1907 and settled on a relinquishment west of Doby Springs. They moved to the Woodward area in 1915. On December 5, 1920 she was married to John Milton Geddes in the Willard Community. They lived on a farm in the Willard School district northeast of Woodward for many years. To this union, five children were born, William, Mary, Vera, John M. and Neva. Her husband preceded her in death on December 21, 1942
Survivors include two sons, William Geddes and wife, Dorothy, Woodward; John Geddes and wife, Patsy, Lindsay; one daughter, Vera Bassett, Woodward; one sister, Florence Rector, Woodard; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grand children; two great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Mary and Neva; one grandson, Randy Loomis, three brothers and three sisters.
