Big Band Leader. He was born Harry Freidman in Cleveland, Ohio. He began the Blue Barron orchestra in New York City playing at the Edison Hotel in 1940. His band recorded songs like "At A Perfume Counter" in 1938, "Cruisin Down the River" in 1949, and "Sometimes I'm Happy" in 1940. The band played in movie shorts like "Melody Master: Blue Barron and His Orchestra" in 1949, "Paramount Headliner: Blue Barron and His Orchestra" in 1940, and "Blue Barron and His Orchestra" in 1952. (bio by: Genet)
