Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Phyllis Leon. Survived by his wife of 33 years, Sylvia Leon; his beloved brother, Joe (Rosalinda) Leon of Aurora, CO. Descendants also include sons, Sgt. David Leon stationed Ft. Carson, CO., Daniel Leon of Hayward, CA. Grandsons, Jaxon, Justin, Elijah, Jameson Leon; a granddaughter, Jazlyn Leon; one nephew, Christopher (Kelly) Leon, Alamo, CA. Two step children; six step grandchildren, all of the Bay Area.

In his early teens, David worked for the Boys Club of Hayward. In high school, he was very active in sports, baseball and football, as a lineman. In his junior year, he was the Mascot for "Spirit Week" and was carried around the gym dressed as a "genie" on a "magic carpet".

He graduated from Sunset High School, class of 1970. He then enrolled at Chobot Community College to pursue classes in art and drafting. He was a very talented artist from an early age.

He enlisted in the Army in 1971 and received his basic training at Ft. Ord., CA. From there he was sent to Ft. Benning, GA for further training as a Military Policeman. He was deployed to Danag, South Vietnam in 1973. In 1974, he was honorably discharged from active duty at Ft. Riley, KS, 1st MP Co. - 1st Infantry Div.

He was a truck driver for 35 years, and for most of that time, worked for Sysco, Teamster Local #853.

He was laid to rest at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, Hayward, CA with full military honors.
