Hershel Blankenship, 70, Rt. 3, Eubank, died Wednesday, January 7, in Eubank.
A farmer and retired merchant, he was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church.
Born August 12, 1910, in Eubank, he was the son of Charlie and Mattie Denney Blankenship.
He was married December 23, 1933, to Lucy Kite, who survives.
Other survivors are three sons, Robert C. Blankenship, Vandalia, Ohio, Hershel Edward Blankenship, Austin, Texas, and Noel Richard Blankenship, Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers, Melvin and Lucian Blankenship, both of Eubank; four grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the chapel of the Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with the Rev. E.R. Prather and the Rev. Bradley Goforth officiating.
Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Morris and Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill Chapel.
