Died at her home in this city on Saturday morning, March 9, 1890, Mrs. Mary Wood, aged 50 years, 4 months and 4 days. Her death was caused by heart disease. She retired on Friday evening in apparently good health as usual and arose in the morning and built a fire, then not feeling well she lay down and fell asleep, the sleep that knows no waking this side of the great hereafter.
She was the mother of four children, three of whom survive her, Henry, of this city and Frank and Robert, of Friend, Nebraska, all of whom were present at her funeral, which was held on Tuesday from the ME church and was largely attended.
Mr. and Mrs. H.N. Carpenter, of Nebraska, were also present at the funeral, Mrs. Carpenter being a sister of the deceased.
