He died at 3:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, at Bossier Medical Center.
Mr. Thompson was a native of Junction City, La., and the former owner of Parker Thompson Wholesale Grocery Co., and Thompson Apiaries of Winnfield and was a founder and former president of Winn State Bank and Trust Co.
Survivors include his wife, Hollace Thompson; two daughters, Jane T. Peterson and Jean T. Morn, both of Bossier City; one sister, Ester Hutson; one brother, G. E. Thompson, both of Shreveport; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Don Thompson, Benton (nephew), John D. Walker, Winnfield; Frank Entrekin, Jr., Winnfield; Norman Smith, Winnfield; Matt Milam III, Winnfield (grand nephew), and Fred Wemple, Benton.
Honorary pallbearers were members, board of directors of Winn State Bank and Trust Co.
