Birth: Apr. 11, 1901
Milwaukee County
Wisconsin, USA
Death: May 2, 1978
Metro Manila
National Capital Region, Philippines

James was a graduate of the Yale class of 1922, a managing partner in G. H. Walker & Co, V-P of 1st National Bank of St. Louis, on the board of curators of the Univ. of Missouri, and a Director of the Import-Export Bank under Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy.

He served in the Army Air Force in WWII as a Lt. Colonel. At the end of the war on September 17, 1945, he was driving his family in Middle Island, on Long Island, NY. A truck sideswiped their car on a narrow road. A hurricane had blown itself out over the Carolinas and New York causing heavy rain. He and his wife Caroline Patterson Bush were taken to a nearby army hospital but their 15 year old daughter Henrietta Bush was killed.

He died in the Veterans Medical Center in Quezon City after a long illness.
