She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Anna Dorsey Ott.
Janet attended Cleveland Arts School and Gettysburg College. She was an admissions counselor at Gettysburg College for many years. Janet was a member of many bridge clubs, including the Gettysburg Hospital Bridge Club and the Banderlog Bridge Club and was also a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Gettysburg
She was preceded in death by her first husband, the late Dr. John P. Rhoads, who departed this life in 1957 and was the wife of Clark S. Smith for 38 years, and surviving, in addition to him, are one daughter, Margaret C. Smith of Stowe, VT; one son, Philip Jones Smith of Marblehead, MA; three grandchildren; one brother, Charles D. Ott of Sun City, FL, and one niece.
