Second Lieutenant Walline served with the
2519th Base Unit at Fort Worth Army Airfield,
Texas.

He was killed, along with seven other Army
airmen, when B-24E Liberator #42-6988 was
involved in a mid-air collision with another
B-24 (#42-7240) in the skies, approximately
five miles southwest of the airfield during a
training flight.

Son of Carl A. Walline, age 22.

The other airmen killed aboard his airplane:

2nd Lt. Vauclain W Barnes
2nd Lt. Frederick C Webster
S/Sgt. Everett A Gaines

And aboard 42-7240:

2nd Lt. William H Magee, pilot
2nd Lt. Douglas M McAllister
2nd Lt. Walter D McPherson
Cpl. Fritz Waldal
