MRS. ADA MARTIN DEAD

Mrs. Ada Martin, nee Ada Pilcher, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Wilson at 6 o'clock A.M. yesterday.

She was born on the old home farm in Cuming City township, now occupied by Ed, her eldest brother; was reared to womanhood, later moving to town with the family where she resided until four years ago when she was married and went to Hot Springs, Colorado, to live. For some time, she has been troubled with cancer and a few months ago, came back to this county to receive medical attention and be near her own people.

Her death is no surprise to her relatives as they have known for some time that there was no hope for her recovery.

The funeral is to be held at two P.M. at the Baptist church today and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.

Mrs. Harvey M. Martin died at the home of her sister, Mrs. M.V. Wilson, near this city at 6:10 last Thursday morning from cancer of the intestines. She was taken sick at her home on a ranch near Middle Park, Colo., and was operated upon at St. Luke's hospital in Denver. She didn't seem to improve and Mrs. Wilson went out and brought her home with her the 9th of October. On October 31st, another operation was performed and she seemed to improve for a time, but the strain of it all was too much for her vitality and she passed peacefully away early last Thursday morning. The funeral was held at the Baptist church in this city Saturday at 2 o'clock.

Ada Melissa Pilcher was born on the old home farm, now occupied by Ed Pilcher, Dec. 9th, 1871, and was therefore just a little past 45 years of age at the time of her death. She resided in this county until 1908, when she went west and had lived in the west since that time. She was married to Harvey M. Martin in Denver, Sept. 17th, 1910, and since that time has lived on a ranch near Middle Park, Colo. Besides her husband, she leaves her mother, Mrs. Ed Pilcher, Sr., of this city; three sisters, Mrs. A.N. Ballard; Mrs. M.V. Wilson; and Mrs. Burdette Hancock; and three brothers, Ed, Chas, and Lloyd.
