"Joseph P. Pollia, a sculptor who specialized in war memorial figures, died Sunday night in Parkchester Hospital, the Bronx, after a brief illness. He was 61 years old. Among Mr. Pollia’s works are monuments to Stonewall Jackson, Gen. Sheridan and John Brown at North Elba near Lake Placid. He also designed monuments at San Juan Hill, Santiago, Cuba; Orange, Mass. and in other locations in New York state. Mr. Pollia was a Fellow of the National Sculpture Society and an associate-elect of the National Academy of Design."
