After the death of her husband Richard Carter, Hannah remarried to a Mr. Enslow in hopes of having a father for her two small children, Mary Trueworthy and Samuel Parker Carter. She bore a child, Franklin Fitzfield to Mr. Enslow on 4 February 1848, only two months prior to her own death. Hannah died of small pox, leaving three young children to her sisters. All three were raised under the name of Carter, and the whereabouts of Mr. Enslow is lost in history.
