L. J. PRINCE DIES
L. J. Prince, 88, a founder of Prince Brothers Drilling, died Thursday in a
Wichita Falls hospital.Arrangements are under direction of Hampton-Vaughan
Funeral Home.Prince was born Jan. 7, 1888, in Waxahachie, TX. He was the
last of three brothers in the oil drilling business, having drilled their
first well in 1916. He moved to Wichita Falls from Electra in 1935.
He was a member of Floral Heights Methodist Church, a member of the Electra
Masonic Lodge #1067, and principal owner of Prince Bros. Drilling Co. and
Prince Production, with offices still in Electra.Prince is survived by a
sister, Mrs. Marguerite Underwood of Vernon, TX., and a brother, Hope Miller
Prince of Sherman, TX.
