Cecil C. "Nick" Nichols August 18, 2010 Cecil C. Nick Nichols, age 89, died on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. Mr. Nichols was born in Memphis, TN on July 28, 1921 to Cecil E. and Nora Devitt Nichols. He served four years in the US Naval Air Force as a mechanic on a PBY during WWII. Nick retired from Rockwell Standard in Memphis, TN where he worked as a tool and die maker. He enjoyed fishing and boating and he attended Fords Well Church of Christ. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks, with Bro. Billy Sasser officiating. Interment will take place at Fords Well Cemetery with his grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Mr. Nichols is survived by his wife of 67 years, Edith Burgess Nichols of Oakland, MS; two sons, Gary Nichols of Houston, TX and Ronnie Nichols of Red Banks, MS; six grandchildren, Ronnie (Anita) Nichols, Jr., Jenny Rose (Tim) Pitts, Jonie Rose (Chris) Thomas, Amie Nichols (Steve) Kohr, Ashlee Rose (James) Stewart, and Jon (Ashley) Rose, II, and eleven great-grandchildren.
