Obituary in Gazette, Sterling, IL. on May 18, 1916
Died Unexpectedly Axel Anderson Had Been Ill But Was Not Thought Serious.
Axel Anderson who lived with his brother, Henry, about a mile south of town, died very unexpectedly Wednesday morning at one o'clock. He had been feeling badly for three weeks and did considerable complaining, and yet there was no serious thought given it. His death came as a shock to his brother and others for he was in town only a day or so before he died.
Mr. Anderson had lived here for years, and for the past eighteen years had been in partnership with his brother, Henry, which was a very amicable partnership judging by the fact that all during he time there never was a cross word passed between the two men.
Mr. Anderson as a man just in the prime of his life, being only fifty years old past in November. He was a very highly respected man and made friends of his acquaintances.
He leaves to morn his sudden taking away, two sisters and six brothers besides a loving mother. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon in the Swedish Lutheran church and will be conducted by Rev. Alfred Nelson, Pastor of the church.
The mother and other relatives have the sympathy of their many friends and especially does the love and sympathy go out to the brother, Henry, who had been such a close companion during so many years.
