Gas City – Larry Dale Vest, 63, died Monday, September 9, 2013 at home. A native of Tennessee, he is the son of the late Claude Vest and surviving mother, Edna (Crain) Vest.
Dale was active in choir throughout his high school years, graduating in 1969 from Mississinewa High School. He studied Cosmetology and received his Cosmetology license and worked for Dottie Reynolds and Becky Graves. Dale then answered God's call and went on to study Theology at Campbellsville University in Kentucky. He then came home to preach for Calvary Baptist Church in Gas City, Indiana. Dale worked for Frank Maidenberg in the Iroquois Building and Centrum Mall for 30 years. Larry had a love for the Lord, music, singing, playing the piano, cooking, art, woodworking, crafts, gardening, and nature. He adored his nieces and nephews, with one being his namesake, Cora Dale.
He is survived by his mother, Edna Vest, Gas City; former wife, Sandy Vest; three brothers, Kenny (Phyllis) Vest, Somerset, Kyle Vest, Marion, and Jerry (Sylvia) Vest, Fowlerton; four sisters, Linda (Tom) Brown, Gas City, Wanda (Ron Huyser) Crisman, Caledonia, MI, Kathy Vest-King, Gas City and Karen (Jerry)Lilly, Cadiz, KY; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ron and Melissa .
He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Vest; and sister, Wilma Gillis.
