Negro League Professional Baseball Player. In 1937, he made his debut as an infielder for the Negro League team the St. Louis Stars at age 19 and hit a .345 batting average. He went on the play for the Indianapolis ABCs, in 1938. That followed again with playing for the St. Louis Stars (1939-40) and the St. Louis-New Orleans Stars, in 1941. He continued with the Jacksonville Red Caps, in 1942 and Cleveland Buckeyes, in 1943. During World War II, he served as a Private First Class, in the U.S. Marine Corps overseas. After the war, he returned to play for with Trois-Rivieres in the Provincial League, in 1951. Known as a steady infielder noted for his glove, he ended his career with a .275 batting average and 63 runs batted in.
