|Birth: ||Jun. 2, 1775|
North Carolina, USA
The son of Captain Henry Connelley and Ann MacGregor. He died some time after 1865.
In Feb 2012, an article appeared in the Salyersville Independent which listed his gavesite as unmarked, and detailed how they were collecting money to erect a marker.
According to the article, "He was buried in the "Edmund Field" above what has become known as the Abel Caudill Cemetery".
Edmund first married Lydia Joynes, the daughter of Thomas Joynes and Mary Sarah Caudill. Lydia's sisters married Edmund's brothers Thomas and John. (Susan Joynes m. Thomas Connelley)
Edmund next married Nancy Tackett
Note: According to a Michael Nestor, due to transcription error, many list his son as Daniel, when in fact he was David. "The 1878 Commissioner's deed in Magoffin Co lists the heirs of Edmund Conley, including David Conley. This has been erroneously read as "Daniel" by some. Also the Benjamin F. Gardner Store Records, recorded in "The Conley Clan of Eastern Kentucky" listed "David Conley (son of Edmond)" proving that David was Edmund's son. In addition, David was listed adjacent to Edmund and his other known sons in numerous tax and census listings."
