KANSAS CITY, Mo.--Donald Raymond Avery, 85, diedThursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Avery was born July 30, 1919, at Clay Center.He was in the Marine Corps in World War II.
He married Beulah May Chapman June 29, 1947, and moved to Kansas City shortly thereafter. He was a meat cutter until his retirement. He was a member of Ridgeview Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge of Blue Springs.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah (Bea) Avery of the home; two daughters, Susan Avery of the home and Donna and husband Larry Hartman of Raytown; and one sister, Ruby Copeland and husband Henry of Wichita.
A funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 30 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel. Burial with a military ceremony followed at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Donald is a cousin on my mother's Harrison-Robinson line.
