Mrs. Hannah Shafer, aged 68, died at her home, 204 Carey Avenue, this morning at 5:40 o'clock of complications. She was well known in the lower part of the city and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Her survivors are Mrs. Cora Lauderbaugh, Mrs. F.M. Whiteknight, Harriett Shafer, Frank of Michigan, and one brother, Norman Williams of Scranton. Internment will be at Hanover Green Cemetery.

Hannah (Evans) Shafer is the daughter of Daniel Evans and Annie Evans Williams Thomas. Her father died in the mines when she was small and her mother remarried David Williams.
She is also the sister of Mary Ann Twist and Elizabeth Turner both pre-deceased her.
