U.S. Army SP4 Glenn Lawfield died in Vietnam on September 30, 1968 due to wounds that he received while serving as the door gunner of a Helicopter that was taken under fire by a hostile force.
SP4 Lawfield was the son of Mrs. Elizabeth M. Owens of Detroit and Mr. Robert V. Lawfield of St. Clair Shore, Michigan.
SP4 Lawfield was only 18 years old at the time of his death, and the Awards and Decorations that he received for his Military Service included: U.S. Army Aviation Crew Member Wings, the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
