John F. "Jack" Hough, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. He was born in Yoakum on Aug. 18, 1920, to John L. and Annie Fetterly Hough.

Jack was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and the Yoakum Volunteer Fire Department. He was a charter member of the Marine Corps League, VFW, Bulldog Booster Club, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors: wife, Ora Mae Hagan Hough of Yoakum; his loving dogs, Blackie and Sadie; sister, Cecil Gise and husband Jim of McQueeney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents and sisters, Mildred Thiele and Margaret Bracher.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Pat Hull, Mark Manning, Mark Herchek, Kenneth Meyer, David Ferry and B. J. Chomout.

Honorary pallbearers: Verdell Skelton, Victor Robles, David Moczygemba, Phil Baker, Marlon Kuenstler, Lloyd Hanna, and all members of Yoakum Fire Department and Yoakum Volunteer Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Yoakum Volunteer Fire Department or the donor's choice.
