Linus Horner, 87, Linton, ND, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in the Linton Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, ND, with Rev. David Richter officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, ND and continue for one hour before services at the church on Friday.

Linus was born July 8, 1926 in Linton, ND, the son of Wendelin and Barbara (Vetter) Horner. He married Anna Wolf at St. Michael's Catholic Church on October 3, 1950. They lived on the family farm 31 years before moving into Linton.

Linus was active in Odessa School Board for many years and on the Odessa Precinct Committee. He was church trustee in St. Aloysious Catholic Church and later at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Linus was an active member and past Grand Knight of St. Anthony's KC. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for five years. Linus was an avid bowler and horse shoe player. Later, he enjoyed playing cards and fishing with friends.

Linus is survived by his wife, Anna, of Linton, his children, Lilia (Rodney) Bakken of Devils Lake, ND, Harvey (Margo) Horner of Minneapolis, MN, Gary (Mel) Horner of Bismarck, ND, Randy (Bonnie) Horner of Renton, WA, Jim Horner of Glendive, MT, Kenny (Lisa) Horner of Charleston, SC, Dale Horner of Vancouver, WA and Lisa (Kirk) Bagley of Rapid City, SD, 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, one brother, Aldon (Amy) Horner of Minneapolis, MN and one sister, Angline (Mack) Ensley of Battleground, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Frank, two sisters, Pauline Kuntz and Eileen Fischer.
