Frank Northcutt, 84 years, passed away September 3, 2013 at his home in Victoria, surrounded by family. He was born in Edina, Missouri on March 3, 1929 to parents Lee and Mary Northcutt.

Frank grew up in Wharton County, graduating from Boling High School where he played football. While working at Texas Gulf Sulfur he studied pre-Engineering at Wharton Jr. College and later received a Maintenance Engineering degree through ICS. Mr. Northcutt valued education and was proud of the fact that all of his children and grandchildren received a degree from college.

He married Margarete Atkins April 7, 1950. From this union was born son Dr. Alan Northcutt and daughters Kelly Standley (Ty) and Melanie Cox (Tim). He and Margarete had 63 wonderful years together.

Mr. Northcutt retired as a mechanical engineer from Union Carbide after 30 years where he developed and patented die plate technology. He then was employed with Gemco for 10 years.

Frank enjoyed boating, fishing, woodworking and traveling. He and his wife enjoyed cruises and camping with the Ramblin Rose Campers. Using his woodworking skills Frank built many dulcimers for family and friends. He and his wife were founding members of the Bluebonnet Dulcimer Club which played in nursing homes and at churches.

Before moving to Victoria they lived in Point Comfort for 34 years where they raised their children and attended Point Comfort Baptist Church.

Frank was an active member of Baptist Temple Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Royce and sister Joyce.
