Trotskyist political leader. Born Hugo Miguel Bressano Capacete, was a very controversial figure who took an active part in the international Trotskyist movement and in Argentine left, where he founded several organizations such as the Marxist Workers Group (GOM), the Revolutionary Workers Party (PRT), the Socialist Workers Party (PDT), and the Movement Towards Socialism (MAS). He participated as a delegate of the POR in the Second Congress of the Fourth International, in France, in 1948, of which he was a member of its Secretariat. During the military dictatorship (1976 to 1983) was exiled to Colombia, where he participated in the founding of the Simon Bolivar Brigade to support group Nicaraguan Sandinista Front (FSLN) to fight the dictatorship of Anastasio Somoza. He authored more than 25 books. After his death, several groups and personalities linked to the left and the working class still claim his legacy, particularly in Argentina, Brazil and other South American countries.
