SEMI-WEEKLY INTERIOR JOURNAL, STANFORD, KENTUCKY
Friday, October 28, 1898
A dispatch from Richmond says: Miss Annie Phelps, daughter of M. A. Phelps, and Mr. Richard Cobb Hocker, a prosperous farmer of Lincoln county, were married Wednesday morning, at the home of the bride, near town. The event was quite an elaborate society affair.
We hear that Miss Florence Myers was maid of honor and J. H. McAlister, Jr., best man. Mrs. Richard Cobb, J. R. Bush and Dr. R. M. Phelps, who is a brother of the bride, went up to see the knot tied. Mr. Hocker has made extensive improvements in the house on his farm and has a pretty home for his handsome bride where they will doubtless be as happy as the days are long.
Mr. and Mrs. Hocker will be at home to their friends, Wednesdays in November.
