Richard Arthur Rash (1889-1960), 61, of Mannville, died yesterday after a short illness.
Rash had lived in Putnam County 38, years, coming from Vermont in 1922. He was a retired chief torpedo man in the U.S. Navy having served in both World Wars.
He was a member of the Congregational Church of Interlachen and also had a long career in the Masons.
He was past master of Lodge 89, F&AM, of Keystone Heights, past master of Interlachen Lodge 159; past high priest of Putnam Chapter No. 9 of Royal Arch Masons and past commander of Palatka Commandery No. 5 of Knights Templar.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Christine Emma Miles Rash of Mannville; four daughters, Mrs. Hubert Cameron, Tallahassee; Mrs. Alfred (Carol Arlene) Guinette and Mrs. Frank (Cora Alma) Jolly, both of Key West, and Mrs. Carrie McDaniels, Mannville; and five sons, John Frederick, Washington, Roy Allen, Hollister, Ray Albert, U.S. Army in Germany, and Ralph Antoine and Robert, both of Mannville.
Masters Funeral Home is in charge. Palatka Daily News, Monday, 28 Nov 1960.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in First Congregational Church in Interlachen with Rev. Denver Methaker officiating.
Burial will be in Interlachen’s Pineview Cemetery with Masters Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers will be J. F. Broadway, Paul Custead, C. H. Barnard, Victor Rich, Everett Fox, and L. E. Tanner. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd Thursday, 1 Dec 1960.)
