Arvin L. Bauer of the town of Trenton, Washington County, Wisconsin, USA, died at the age of 89 years on Saturday, 08 October 2011, at Horizon Hospice, Columbia St. Mary's Hospital, Mequon, Ozaukee County Campus. Alvin was born on 15 May 1922, in Juanita, Foster County, North Dakota. He was the son of Garvin E. and Gertrude (Hoffmann) Bauer. During World War II, Alvin served with the United States Navy aboard the USS Nashville. Following his discharge, he settled in Colgate, Washington County, Wsconsin. On 25 May 1946, he was united in marriage to Alice A. Youngbauer in Lannon, Waukesha County. For the past 60 years, they have lived in the town of Trenton. For more than 40 years, he was employed at Paul Grunau Company, where he worked as a sprinkler fitter installing fire protection systems.
He was survived by his wife Alice; 5 children Catherine (Richard) D..., Janet (Raymond) W..., Edward (Paulette), Robert (Sue Isakson-Bauer) and Bonnie (Robert) K..; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Dennis (Beverly) and Kerlin (Marsha); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by 1 daughter Barbara Clayton and his step-mother Lillian (Motz) Bauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, 02 October at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Burial followed in Holy Angels Cemetery, West Bend. The family greeted relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the church only on Wednesday afternoon.
