Eva, the daughter of George and Rose Austin Deselms, was raised by Rose and her stepfather Noah Cox. For many years she lived at 958 East Broadway, though for the last 18 months she lived at the Montrie Nursing Home in Sylvania. She had lived in Toledo for about 80 years, and was employed by the Toledo Board of Education at Woodward High School for 15 years before retiring 13 years ago. She was a member of the Euclid Avenue Methodist church. She was the widow of William Wertz and the mother of Alta, William, Wilson and Robert. She also left behind seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
