CHURCH HILL – Julius P. Bombailey Sr., 89, of Church Hill, Route 4, died at this home there at 6:55 p.m. Saturday.
He was born in Switzerland and had lived in the United States since he was 18 years old. A brick mason and farmer, he had been a resident of Hawkins County 62 years and was a member of Old Union Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mattie Davis Bombailey; six daughters, Mrs. H. B. Clifton, Kingsport; Mrs. G. H. Mauk, Surgoinsville; Mrs. Edd Dixon, Mrs. Paul Christian, Mrs. C. W. Wallace and Mrs. F. C. Feagins, all of Church Hill; three sons, Ray, J. P. Jr. and Davis Bombailey, Church Hill; 39 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be a 2 p.m. Monday at the Old Union Methodist Church. The Rev. J. H. Myers, the Rev. L. W. O'Rear and the Rev. C. C. Hood will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The Body will be removed from Carter-Clamon Funeral Home in Kingsport to the home at 2 p.m. Sunday. It will be placed in the church one hour before the service Monday.
